A few days back I was busy with some basic uninteresting RubyOnRails coding. There were some functions and options that I kept forgetting so I googled the RoR API if I couldn’t think of it in under a minute. After a few hours I got tired of repeatetly typing in “rubyonrails api {query}” in my Google search box on the top right corner of Firefox. Sometimes it even displayed the RoR Wiki instead of the API. So, I decided to make a plugin to do this in one simple move. Here it is: presenting…

It’s functionality is quite simple: you type in a query and it runs a Google search for that query on the site “api.rubyonrails.com”. It’s really nothing special, but in the spirit of DRY this comes in handy ;)

I really wish they would implement a search function in the API similiar to the one PHP.net uses, so I could write a even better plugin. But in the meantime: enjoy!
